Durham City Velo (DCV) was formed in March 2015 by cyclists in and around the historic, medieval city of Durham, in North-East England. Today, our membership spans a wide range of ages, experience and ability from across the county and beyond.

While the club focuses primarily on social road-riding, individual members enjoy cycling off-road as well as participating in audax, time-trials, cyclo-cross and sportive events.

The club tries to offer members and guests TWO ‘official’ rides on a weekend – Saturday & Sunday (with additional mid-week offerings in spring and summer). Rides normally leave from the car park at Low Burnhall. Sundays are usually a bit easier (40-50 miles at around 14 mph) and are the best option if you’re new to club cycling. Off the bike, we try to meet on the first Monday of the month, at the Kingslodge Inn, Waddington Street, Durham City, DH1 4BG at 7.00 pm.
