While many of their clubmates were in the process of bringing their respective winter challenge campaigns to a conclusion a couple of Durham City Velo members were competing in Yorkshire Cycling Federation’s 10-mile TT on the V212 near Boroughbridge.
The powerhouse that is Euan Adam (still awaiting the DCV skinsuit that will undoubtedly make him even quicker) turned in a stellar performance for second place in the Open category clocking an astounding 00:20:38 on the out-and-back course.
Starting further down the field was the multi-disciplinarian Mark Robinson, leaving the cloying mud of cyclo-cross behind to clock a very competitive 00:24:27 on tarmac. This put him solidly in the mix, a highly creditable performance for a rider new to the discipline.
The YCF series looks like a very accessible for any DCV member fancying giving it a go. As well as the Open TT category, there’s a medium gear category and one for road bikes (if you don’t fancy the investment or just want to mix it up a bit).
