St Bees To Robin Hoods Bay

August 2021

This vehicle-supported weekend took place before we got this version of the website up and running. I didn’t attend as I’d only just joined the club so I’m not able to supply many details unfortunately (neither can I caption the photographs in terms of location). I CAN say that quite a few members boarded a hired Ford Transit on Friday evening to drive to St Bees on the west coast.

The plan was to cycle (in two groups as it turned out) across the country, over the Pennines and North York Moors, to Robin Hood’s Bay with an overnight stop at Grinton YHA in Swaledale. The forecast heavy rain on Saturday, together with Ian B’s early crash in the wet, couldn’t dampen the enthusiasm and with Sunday thankfully living up to its name, the weekend proved to be a big hit as the photographs show.
