Cycling in Durham & Northern England
Do you love riding your bike? Looking for cycling buddies? Do you want to make more of the North East’s richly diverse cycling landscape? You can do it all, and more, with Durham City Velo. Take the first step and…
Weekend club runs are usually held on Saturday AND Sunday. Both are ‘no-drop’ and based on the speed of the slowest rider. Although we’re mainly a road club many of our members enjoy – or prefer – riding on ‘gravel’ which usually means local railway paths of which we have several nearby.
Although we’re not (as yet) a racing club, as soon as daylight and weather permits we hold a mid-week training session on Wednesday or Thursday evenings. It’s not a ‘chain-gang’ but we ride as a group on the flat or in the hills at a higher pace than we’d usually achieve on weekend club runs.
Most of us leave bikes and lycra at home on the first Monday of the month when we congregate for business and pleasure at the Kingslodge Inn, on Waddington Street in Durham City, DH1 4BG from 7 pm onwards.
We recommend that you use our contact form for enquiries. All messages are monitored closely and you can be assured that a club officer will reply.
